Color-Box , a Georgia-Pacific company, manufactures high quality, point-of-sale packaging. We currently have openings in our Pelahatchie, MS facility for
Experienced Machine Operators on 2nd and 3rd shift. The pay rate for these positions is _up to $17.50_ per hour. Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift, including nights, weekends and overtime (as necessary) as well as be able to work around variable start times.
_ Machine Operators_
(Lead Laminator Operator and Lead Die Cut Operators)
_ Key Responsibilities_ :
Adhere to all plant environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
Hold crew accountable for maintaining equipment to appropriate standards
Monitor overall machine performance and make adjustments as necessary
Train crew members on the machine to minimize production interruptions
Lead crew to maintain/exceed set production goals
Ensure crew adheres to quality standards and communicate when defects are found
Ensure preventative and autonomous maintenance tasks are completed weekly
Assist with set-ups, troubleshooting and making machine adjustments
Keep work area clean throughout shift
Perform quality checks as needed
_ Basic Qualifications_
High school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of experience operating high speed manufacturing equipment or CNC (computer numerical control) machinery
Minimum of 1 year of crew leader experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
Ability to work any shift, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime (as needed) with variable start times
Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
Willingness to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stooping, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely with or without reasonable accommodation
Willing and able to wear Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes) and other PPE required by specific job
Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment
Willing to consent to and complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
_ Preferred Qualifications_ :
Experience performing basic maintenance on manufacturing equipment
Experience using a computer for basic record keeping and documentation functions
Previous experience using a computer based work order system such as MP2
